Physics 1 AP C 2005-2006 Projects

1. First quarter project: Video motion analysis using Videopoint. Cool clips are available:
   • NCSSM Video library
   • Long falls with air drag
   • WFU Physics Demos
   • NCSU Demo room (limited collection)
   • We have some amusement park video on CD.
   • Or you can record your own.

   Project specifications (which may eliminate some of the choices on the above links) to be announced each quarter.

3. Third quarter project: Particle Physics: Why Particle Physics? Because "real physicists don't slide blocks down ramps"!

4. Fourth quarter project:

   Let's Get Medieval! Design and build a catapult or trebuchet. Instructions forthcoming: your device may only be powered by mechanical energy: no motors or combustibles allowed!

   Please note your fourth quarter project is in lieu of a final exam - and therefore the lab writeup for this project counts as your final exam grade!

Note also that all projects must be submitted for approval before you can begin work. Send an email to Mr. F oulining your idea (and be specific). There won't be any duplications. Act now, because the good ones will go fast.
